The Shipping & Export Control Supervisor is a critical member of the Operations team. The Shipping & Export Control Supervisor is responsible for shipping product from the Firetrace facility to all customer locations, including international shipments. They will lead a team of shippers to manage daily workloads and tasks. They must be able to create all export documentation needed as well as fulfil special customer requirements. In addition, maintaining safety and cleanliness within the warehouse always. Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Coordinate movement of goods from Firetrace to destination within parameters required by customer
Source properly vetted and permitted carriers to haul shipment to destination
Create export documents and Haz documents
Create standard work for each international customer on requirements
Negotiate with carriers to secure space and pricing based on shipment requirements
Prepare shipments of finished products by skidding and banding, crating, wrapping, and packaging
Loading product for transportation
Manage shipping team members by assigning priorities and delegation of work
Complete performance review for shipping team members
Mentor and train other team members
Track all shipments and update sales team accordingly
Focus on exwork shipments to ensure freight forwarders are reaching out to shipping team members
Maintain a constant sense of urgency moving freight without sacrificing accuracy for speed
Interface with customers on a daily basis to ensure shipments are scheduled on time
Update customer contacts with booking confirmations and tracking once product has left the facility
All other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Minimum 2 years of logistics experience in international environment preferred
Hazmat certified
Experience maneuvering pallet jack and forklift driving certification preferred.
Experience managing employees
High School or GED degree.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment
Must be able to set priorities
Must be able to adapt to changing priorities.
Must be proficient with MS Office applications (excel, word, outlook, etc.) and ability to learn GP ERP system.
Proven ability to work within a team environment and be a self-starter.
Ability to drive a forklift
Other competencies – Basic math, writing, and oral communication abilities.
Physical demands – ability to lift up to 50lbs., stand/walk continuously and perform physical tasks.
