What you will be responsible for:

Using discretion and judgment and following established procedures, the RetailTrade Operations Specialist ensures that all trade implementation and execution for Retail SMA (Separately Managed Accounts)Manager traded and Model Delivery accounts (across a variety of platforms and investment strategies) are handled both accurately and timely and that financial, reporting, and trading records for Retail SMA clients are properly maintained; that proper internal controls are in place; that procedures are in place and followed consistently.

When safe to do so, according to local government guidelines, MFS will adopt a hybrid model of working, where employees will be based 2-3 days per week at home and 2-3 days in the office. Employees are currently working from home.

Principal responsibilities

  • Provides trading expertise to support the end-to-end implementation of Model Portfolio changes for Retail SMAManager traded and Model Delivery programs which includes order generation and execution, dissemination of model changes in a rotation and quality controls

  • Ensures individual SMA (Separately Managed Accounts) client directed requests such as new account inceptions, terminations, rebalances and complex tax harvesting requests are executed timely and accurately via Fix Connections, Sponsor Trading Desks, and a variety of Trading Platforms. Performs a variety of controls to validate and monitor activity and handle any trading or settlement issues that may arise

  • Responsible for working with both the RPA and Intelligent Automation team and sponsor firms to automate and create both import templates and reconciliation reports for Model Delivery firms to mitigate risk during model change days

  • Collaborate with other MFS departments and functional areas such as Equity Trading, Legal, Compliance, Corporate Actions, Information Technology, Sales and Marketing, as well as Wholesalers, Sponsors, Third-Party Custodians, and other entities with whom we do business to ensure cooperative effort, smooth communication of issues, and positive perception of MFS

  • Monitor proper internal controls and make recommendations for improvement to seniormanagement when necessary; assure that trading procedures are documented, current, and consistently followed

  • Assist in the implementation of and training on third party proprietary trading systems. Collaborate with internal IT Departments to test, update, and implement any new trading technology or any sponsor directed initiatives

  • Maintain clear and concise communication channel between the SMA Team and Portfolio Management. Develop and maintain working relationship with members of both the Quantitative Solutions Team and Equity Trading Desk to provide feedback on, but not limited to, cash levels,fee's, models changes, step-outs, Corporate Actions, Model Delivery, Order Generation scenarios and or Sponsor Firm questions

  • Provide coverage for both the SMA Oversight and Sales Data Management Teams when called upon or during extra capacity time

  • Assist in the research, documentation, and resolution of any trade errors caused by the Sponsor Firm, Service Providers, or MFS and prepare recommendations for procedural changes if needed to avoid future errors

  • Assist in the implementation of new sponsor relationships, products, and maintenance of existing relationships. Build towards becoming a SME for RFPs, due diligence questionnaires, and industry and regulation changes.Help to research, compile, and organize data for these various deadlines driven requests

Job requirements

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience

  • Preferred 3 years trading and administrative experience in the operation of a mutual fund, broker/dealer or asset management firm or a bank specializing in the custody, accounting and administration of pools of assets or mutual funds

  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization

  • Strong attention to detail and Strong analytical skills

  • Prior experience with Investcloud APL preferred.

  • Prior experience with Vestmark and CRIIMS trading applications preferred
