What you will be responsible for:

The Director of Quality Assurance (QA) is a leadership position that provides strategy, direction and management to a global QA team. Operating under our 'Follow the Sun' global operations model and in accordance with MFS' technology governance, the Director of QA is responsible for all quality assurance and testing on all platforms and capabilities used in the investment management and trading, global distribution, corporate and technology departments. The key to your success will be your ability to lead in a collaborative agile application delivery framework and execution of comprehensive testing strategies, such as, functional, integration, regression, performance, user acceptance, interface, and release testing

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly accountable to lead, direct and manage a global team responsible for ensuring overall quality of software within the MFS application environment
  • Develops overall strategy and implements QA methodologies, tools, and metrics.
  • Being a visionary to look at best quality assurance practices, processes, and tools.
  • Leads collaboration efforts with all teams to implement the framework within existing Agile framework while ensuring adherence to operational controls.
  • Quantitatively tracks defect rates, identifies, and analyzes trends, and directs teams with effective steps to improve software delivery processes.
  • Advocates and champions overall quality delivery framework and responsibility with all team members involved with the application development and release process
  • Ensures compliance of test plan release policies and other related MFS technology governance processes.
  • Mentors and trains teams on testing methodologies and procedures.
  • Directs staff in the development and implementation of departmental policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Coordinates work associated with the Infrastructure and Information security standards and requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree and aggregate of 15 years of experience in software testing, including functional testing, system testing, integration testing, automation, performance, and stress testing. Recent experience must include hands-on testing experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of working through Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong domain knowledge in the Investment management or financial industry.
  • Knowledge of multiple functional domains preferred.
  • Knowledge of various application platforms including SAAS platforms, in-house custom applications, Cloud, etc., are required.
  • Knowledge of various types of applications from high-performance transactional systems to high-volume web applications to batch processes, and associated testing paradigms is required.
  • Strong database and data knowledge required
  • Ability to lead and coordinate the workload of a team of onshore and offshore QA professionals
  • Experience with full cycle testing
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills required
  • Experience in knowledge of industry standard best practices as related to software testing
