ABOUT THE ROLE
We are hiring a Production Assistant (PA) to support the work of the three national news programs we produce at WETA: PBS NewsHour, Washington Week and Weekend NewsHour. As our PA, you'll provide a diverse range of writing, research, editing, video production, and reporting services.
This position requires weekend work.
YOUR FIRST 90 DAYS
You'll get to know your team and the wider organization, and how each group functions independently as well as part of the whole. You'll learn our fast-paced work style while establishing key relationships with colleagues.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Using media asset management tools, online web research, and video editing programs, you'll provide production assistance to producers and teams creating our three news broadcasts. You'll be able to accurately log live, pre-recorded events and maintain our video log tracking system, understanding how to sort most relevant editorial information using independent editorial judgment and working in collaboration with other staffers.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Proof of full dosage of a COVID-19 vaccination is required for all positions that will be working onsite, or may reasonably or occasionally be called to work onsite.
