Job/Internship Description

Position summary:

The Human Resources Intern provides support to the Human Resources department by assisting in the recruitment and hiring process and assist with day to day tasks as assigned. In addition, this position may serve as a backup to the receptionist.

Essential Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist with screening applicants for minimum job qualifications through phone interview process
  • Assist with reference and background checks and coordinate pre-employment testing
  • Assist with new hire orientation
  • Assist with the preparation of employee reviews
  • Assist with wellness activities
  • Assist with electronic filing as needed
  • Maintain accurate employee records in ADP Workforce Now
  • Coordinate employee engagement activities
  • Perform various clerical duties
  • Perform back up receptionist duties - greet customers in person and via telephone in a responsive and respectful manner
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Currently attending school with emphasis on Human Resources, Recruiting or Business Admin. - required
  • Previous administrative experience - preferred
  • Experience with a HRIS and Applicant Tracking Software program- preferred
  • Self-starter with multi-tasking skills and great adaptability skills - required
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality - required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills- required
  • Demonstrated proficiency (intermediate level) in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) - required

  • Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
