Job Description

Asset Management Division (AMD) is one of the world's leading investment managers. This role will form part of the core product management team in an integral positon to help Goldman Sachs build out its franchise and footprint in China's asset management business. Goldman Sachs has a long term strategic plan in China, as evidenced by the recent announcement of 51% ownership of our local joint venture. As part of the strategic plan to build out our China footprint and franchise, AMD is pursuing a joint venture with ICBC by combining AMD's expertise in product innovation, portfolio and risk management with ICBC's strong brand recognition and client network. The joint venture will offer investment management advisory services for retail and/or qualified investors in China, via predominantly ICBC's nationwide distribution channels. The joint venture will benefit from strengths from both companies, delivering superior investment solutions to onshore China clients.

As China is opening up its economy and financial markets, the joint venture is at a bright spot in delivering and sharing best practices from global markets, complimenting local expertise in understanding and developing solutions for local investors. As China evolves to become a global player in the economy, it is keen to seek changes in the industry in many ways. The marrying of relative strengths from both company will not only yield great benefit to local investors, but also will drive changes in the overall industry.

About the Role:

This role is responsible to facilitate product sales through product development, technical sales support and delivery of competitive market insights. The hire will work with the investment team and sales team to drive product initiatives, sales pipeline and demand for the wealth management joint venture. The role is a junior role who will support the senior product specialist.

Responsibilities:

  • Support senior product specialist in communicating the investment philosophy, process, product positioning and current market trends to internal and external clients
  • Facilitate product and brand initiatives by partnering with key internal stakeholders such as investment, sales, legal, compliance and operations teams
  • Provide project management of new product design, structuring, and implementation of new product initiatives
  • Participate in ongoing range management exercises to ensure existing product range remains competitive and incompliance with latest regulations
  • Responsible to create materials and conduct desk research for new business pitches and client reviews

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in product management / development within the global asset management industry
  • Adequate understanding of the Chinese asset management landscape, including bank wealth management, fund management and securities companies sectors
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects, deadlines, personalities and broad based coverage
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding communication skills in Chinese and English, both written and verbal
  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree
