The Potomac School's Athletic Department seeks a motivated individual to develop and lead administrative, operational, and apparel processes for the successful support of department staff, coaches, and student-athletes. This vacancy is for the 2022-23 school year and is a full-time position reporting to the Athletic Director.

The 25 different interscholastic programs and 75 teams include, Intermediate school (7th and 8th grade) teams, Varsity teams and junior varsity teams. Varsity teams strive to compete at the highest levels while emphasizing sportsmanship and teamwork. At the junior varsity level, success in competition is encouraged, while skill building and participation are the primary goals.
Girls teams compete in the 15-member Independent School League (ISL) and Boys teams compete in the 7-member Mid-Atlantic Conference (MAC).
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee equipment and uniform needs for all of our programs: IS and US
- Assist in determining the needs for purchase orders and acquisition of athletic clothing and equipment
- Responsible for the design and ordering of all uniforms, athletic store items/spirit wear
- Handles all equipment reconditioning and assists in managing all storage spaces
- Responsible for supervising the upkeep and maintenance of all indoor and outdoor facilities in coordination with the Director of Athletics
- Ensures that the playing fields, tennis courts, track area and inside athletic areas are maintained and prepared for all contests
- Expected to coach at the Upper School or IS level
- Responsible for ordering all athletic awards for the IS and US athletic program. Assists with planning and attends any athletic assemblies and award ceremonies
- Engages in all aspects of school life at Potomac, including attending school wide assemblies, divisional meetings, all school activities etc.
- Open communication with the Potomac community at large regarding operations of the Athletic Department
- Game Day Administrator, managing logistics, providing oversight, and ensuring a quality game experience
- Professional Development - Attends workshops, clinics and conferences
- Manage HUDL and all livestream mediums
- Oversee student billing
- Coordination of transportation of all teams with our in house fleet and charter buses for tournaments and trips
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years related experience
- Experience coaching teams and working in a school setting
- Knowledge of overall operation of an Athletic program and facilities
- Strong customer focus and service orientation
- Provide leadership and have the ability to work closely with the Director of Athletics in providing a worthwhile learning experience for all student athletes
- Able to work flexible hours including additional time (evenings, weekends, school breaks, etc) as necessary to insure a quality
- Experience and proficiency with computers and technology
