Stanley Consultants is currently seeking a technically experienced and capable Business Development Manager 3 with strong leadership skills that will win and deliver Environmental Service projects and programs in the domestic US regions. This role will grow our existing client relationships and support the identification and development of new clients in the Electric Power, Industrial, and Institutional sectors for Stanley Consultants through strong industry connections. This Business Development Manager 3 will work to develop large client programs for Environmental Services such as:
- Environmental compliance and permitting services:
- Air and water quality regulatory compliance services
- Sustainability, resource modeling and design projects
- Asbestos and lead inspection, design, and oversight services
- Pollution prevention and waste management projects
- Environmental cleanup services:
- Site assessment, investigation, and modeling projects
- Contaminated site remediation projects
- Brownfields redevelopment projects
- GIS and mapping services
- Environmental protection services:
- Ecological Natural Resources, Wetlands, NEPA and Environmental Assessment services
- Associated studies, advisory services, due diligence and construction services support
Essential Duties:
- Prepare environmental business strategies for growth of services
- Achieve new and add-on business sales goals with existing and new clients
- Develop and enhance client relationships and serve as the primary company contact
- Provide leadership in the development of client relationships, capture planning, strategy, pursuit and proposal activities
- Provide leadership to guide pursuit teams through the positioning, proposal management and interview stages, and bring a strong understanding of the A/E/C industry
- Prepare and submit proposals and qualification statements
- Work with legal team in contract and fee negotiations for consulting engagements
- Participate in client interviews and presentations
- Identify new business growth opportunities and work to meet return on investment goals
- Communicate internally and report regularly on new business sales pipeline, client planning and opportunity tracking
- Perform other functions delegated by the Market Leader and Business Development Leader
- Actively participate in Go No/Go discussions and make recommendations for Go No/Go decisions
- Identify and provide opportunities to potentially grow beyond the environmental practice
- Travel as required
Required skills, education and experience:
- Possess a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience including a history of successful client management and business growth resulting in new and add-on business while leading a team
- Bachelor of Science in engineering, science or specialty field from an accredited four-year college or university
- Proven track record of successful project and client development
- Strong industry connections are preferred
