Manager, Employee Communications

The Manager, Employee Communications will lead the development and execution of companywide employee communications at Elwyn. The manager is a key team member responsible for the success of the employee engagement and development efforts of Elwyn. The manager will work collaboratively across the organization with various departments and employees and all levels of leadership. The manager will develop and evaluate the effectiveness of communications and continuously improve strategies, tactics, tools and management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop employee-facing education and engagement campaigns that showcase Elwyn programs and services to cultivate employee awareness in support of company initiatives
  • Develop creative strategies for communicating to employees; plan the frequency of and platforms by which communications occurs across different areas of the service lines and the company
  • Develop, write, edit, and produce content for various audiences and purposes, using multimedia, videos, emails, slide presentations, social media and other vehicles
  • Create communications aligned with company values and culture, supporting positive employee experiences relating to DEI, engagement, health and wellbeing, retention, recruitment, employee benefits, and employee recognition
  • Work with program leadership to align the communication strategy and campaigns across multiple employee teams
  • Interact with and influence executives and provide advice that reflects an understanding of their business and leadership style
  • Create and/or support the creation of new communication channels
  • Use data to measure the impact of communication campaigns and make changes to improve results
  • In partnership with Advancement department, coordinate and execute logistics around events and internal programs
  • Support the development of employee engagement campaigns that address themes linked to employee turnover or other satisfaction measures
  • Research and identify new trends in internal communications, evaluating new technologies and piloting new approaches to create active employee connection points and celebrate one another and our successes
  • Work closely with the Creative Team to develop complementary and distinct visuals and videos to drive internal communications through multiple channels in engaging ways
  • Perform other duties as assigned

CONTACTS: Heads of Development & Marketing and Human Resources, VP Employee Engagement & Development, business leaders and executives, employees across the organization, external communication partner vendors, media outlets, and IT

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years working in communications with at least 2 years leading internal communication efforts
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications or Marketing
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and marketing skills
  • Excellent presentation skills; comfortable presenting to groups of all sizes and varying levels of the organization
  • Experience in building, leading, or having an active role in intranets and new channel development, as well as managing a variety of internal and corporate communications channels, including virtual town halls, intranets, social channels, and video
  • Strong relationship skills and a track record collaborating with and proactively supporting internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to identify emerging trends in communications, develop related approaches, and effectively translate them into actionable plans
  • Experience with change management and communicating key initiatives across multiple internal audiences
  • Demonstrated intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; report-writer experience preferred
