Description

The Tampa, Florida office of Milliman, an international firm of actuaries and consultants is seeking a candidate for an actuarial internship during the Summer of 2022. In this role, the intern will be exposed to projects across all aspects of the health actuarial space. The successful candidate will review, organize and analyze statistical data; develop and utilize actuarial models; analyze healthcare costs and utilization data; implement software solutions under actuaries' supervision. As well, they would assist our Analysts and Consultants in the development, checking, and utilization of actuarial models to further completion of timely deliverables.

This position provides an excellent entrance into the actuarial field and will provide building blocks to a successful actuarial career.

Job description:

  • Review, organize and analyze statistical data.
  • Develop and utilize actuarial models.
  • Analyze healthcare costs and utilization data.
  • Implement software solutions under actuaries' supervision.
  • Assist our Analysts and Consultants in the development, checking, and utilization of actuarial models.

Qualifications:

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or a related field.
  • Planned graduation in 2023 or 2024
  • GPA 3.5 or above
  • Successfully completed one or more Society of Actuaries exams
  • Proficient in MS Excel; SAS and VBA programming knowledge a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good attitude and strong work ethic required
