Civil Water/Wastewater/Water Resource Engineer - Omaha, NE

We have a career opportunity for an experienced or entry-level water/wastewater engineer to be part of a growing service line at Benesch focused on enhancing civil infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have expertise or an interest in furthering their career focused on the design and construction of collection, distribution, and treatment of water and wastewater systems with potential assignments towards stormwater and overall water resource engineering. The successful candidate will prepare and review plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates related to a variety of civil infrastructure projects. Project Engineers supervise the work of technical support personnel assigned to the project. This position has the opportunity for a flexible hybrid work schedule with the option to office in Omaha, Bellevue, Lincoln, or Grand Island, NE.

The Impact You Will Have:
  • Developing detailed designs of water/wastewater collection/distribution and treatment systems including site layouts, plans, and specifications
  • Compiling and coordinating plans, specifications, cost estimates, and pay items
  • Conducting field observation, inspection, and data collection
  • Applying advanced software knowledge to project elements and design
  • Supporting studies and alternative analysis to determine best solutions to meet compliance and client goals
  • Assisting in the preparation of permit and grant application submittals
  • Working with various disciplines to integrate functional, detailed, and sustainable designs of various infrastructure enhancements
  • Collaborating with team members, communities, and stakeholders to define data needs, project requirements, and outputs or to develop applications
What You Will Need:
  • Proficient basic knowledge of the principles of one or more of the following: sanitary and/or storm sewer collection and distribution systems, water treatment and distribution systems, MS-4 compliance, or hydrologic and hydraulics modeling
  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required
  • Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to develop task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner.
Additional Desired Experience:
  • Professional Engineer license or Engineering Intern certification preferred
  • Project experience in water/wastewater collection, distribution and/or treatment design
  • Project experience in hydrologic and hydraulics modeling
  • Project experience in MS-4 compliance or erosion and sediment pollution control design
