Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - Inverters

Job Description Summary

We are searching for an Advanced Motor Manufacturing Engineer to contribute to our Electrification group within our Driveline organization.

Job Description

In this role, you will provide direction and engineering support for production, testing, and maintenance of manufacturing operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Define production equipment for product flow, ergonomics and efficiency, scalability, standardization, and continuous quality monitoring.
  • Define, procure, and support deployment of manufacturing automation equipment for low, medium, and high volume production.
  • In-house development of prototype workstations, manufacturing equipment and fixtures.
  • Management of suppliers during specification, design, buyoff and installation of manufacturing equipment.
  • Develop in-process and end of line testers for inverter manufacturing for both prototypes and serial production.
  • Participate in early prototype equipment builds to characterize and develop both equipment and processes.
  • Provide Design for Manufacturing feed-back to Product Design Engineering team.
  • Development of new manufacturing processes, process sequences, and process recipes.
  • Creation of detailed Manufacturing Instructions to support new processes and equipment.
  • Perform process analysis including PFMEA and capacity modeling.
  • Support implementation of product traceability and shop floor tracking.

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience carrying out manufacturing engineering activities within an automated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with high voltage inverter manufacturing preferred.
