Description

Position Goals:

Responsible for ensuring the Operations Department runs efficiently and seeks to continually improve processes. Provide direction to the operations staff to ensure delivery of superior quality service and product support for internal and external customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage staff, conduct interviews and make hiring decisions, hire and mentor staff and evaluate performance.
  2. Continually review processes for improvement opportunities to enhance the department's efficiency.
  3. Maintain sound procedures and process controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and SOX key controls.
  4. Identify, track, evaluate and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) that monitor department performance and address any improvements required.
  5. Validate and interpret complex consumer and mortgage loan documentation in order to determine loan boarding requirements.
  6. Determine any new or renewal loans that require priority boarding.
  7. Communicate and follow up with lending staff on any loans with Pre-Boarding issues.
  8. Monitor and review loan exception items
  9. Monitor and review post audit reviews
  10. Review and recommend new methods and procedures to make daily operations more efficient.
  11. Monitor employee and departmental performance and service level agreements
  12. Provide guidance to and help develop subordinates

Position Requirements:

Education - High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Experience - Over five (5) years in a bank production environment or related experience, or over three (3) years in a First Merchants bank production role. Experience managing a team of associates.

Preferred Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in business, management, accounting or related field.
