The Naval Training and Simulation (NTS) department at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory is looking for personnel with these interests.
NTS designs, develops, deploys, and maintains training simulators for the US Navy at training sites across the world. The NTS Engineer will use GUI-based tools and code to develop real-time software models simulating various complex power plant machines for new and existing simulators. Through this work, the engineer will gain a valuable understanding of the operation of various US Navy reactor, propulsion, electrical, heat transfer, and control systems via research and design, implementation, and hands-on testing of several simulator systems. These simulators are used to train Naval Nuclear Operators on current and future Naval ship classes.

The successful candidate will work in one of three units in the Simulation Software and Technology subdivision and support a team-oriented development environment. Roles may include researching, planning, designing, modeling, analyzing, documenting, testing, and presenting your engineering solutions. You will apply your knowledge, creativity, engineering design and analysis, as well as software modeling and troubleshooting skills daily to resolve exciting and challenging assignments. Technical development will be accomplished through a combination of on-the-job training and participation in formal training seminars.
