Job Description

As an Interface Engineer II, you will be responsible to install or configure Cerner interfaces to connect with disparate systems and code custom interfaces as well. In this role you will be also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex interface issues, which would require a good understanding of networking, database querying and programming concepts. In addition to all, an Interface Engineer II is also expected to support interface validation, testing, deployment and documentation during the life cycle of the project. The role requires constant communication with the clients, vendors and project counterparts during the project cycle.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 6 years total combined higher education and related work experience including:
    • At least 1 year system administration and/or system engineering work experience
    • At least 5 years higher education and/or additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job including: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for your position
  • Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year of experience with HL7 or X12 message/file formatting
Expectations:
  • Willing to travel up to 20% as needed
  • Must reside in or willing to relocate to the Kansas City, MO area, or reside near an international airport
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Additional Information
