Job Description

Senior System Engineers are critical to the successful implementation of Cerner solutions within healthcare environments. In this role, the Senior System Engineer is expected to take a consultative approach to an extensive change process by using relationship building skills to develop trust and rapport with clients. Senior System Engineers will provide system implementation, support, monitoring and maintenance of Cerner's solutions and services.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of total combined higher education and related work experience
    • At least 2 years of system administration and/or system engineering work experience
    • At least 6 years of higher education and/or additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job including:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or other related field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Enterprise Voice solutions
  • Microsoft Teams Calling / Direct Routing
  • AudioCodes (SBCs, ARM, OVOC, & Analog Gateways)
  • Deep understanding of SIP (packet Capture, analysis, headers, etc.)
  • Understanding of RTP & Voice Codecs (G711, G722, SILK, etc.)
  • Carrier Services Management
  • Experience with Network Fundamentals & Security
  • TCPIP / DNS / DHCP
  • TLS / Certificates / Firewalls
Expectations
  • Willing to travel up to 20% as needed
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
  • May be required to lift up to 20 lbs., i.e. server, network equipment
