Job Description

As an Accounting Manager you will review and analyze financial transactions and records for Cerner's global business units to ensure accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Oversee the monthly close of international business units and related financial reporting requirements. You will work to support global statutory audits, including oversight of deliverables and facilitating audit interactions. Manage relationships with international external auditors, including review of engagement letters and negotiation of fees. You will delegate GL and audit work appropriately to accountants and senior accountants, provide clear expectations and follow up to ensure progress and overcome roadblocks. Mentor accountants and senior accountants and serve as a guide for career progression. You will also deliver consistent and timely training, guidance and feedback to encourage and promote associate success.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 8 years total combined higher education and related work experience, including:
    • 2 years of finance and/or accounting work experience
    • 6 years of higher education and/or additional work experience directly related to the job, including:
      • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration; or related field; or equivalent, relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years financial accounting or public accounting work experience
  • 2 years of people management, matrix management, project management or other indirect leadership work experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - AICPA

    Expectations
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
