The Category Assort Lead will oversee the Category Assort Analyst to ensure job functions are being completed on time, supporting with any needed training, and filling in as needed. This position will also support National Category Directors and Schematic Analyst II throughout the schematic process.

What does a Category Assort Lead do?

  • Category Assortment Lead will be executing assortment strategy set by National Category Director at lower levels within the i2e Assortment software application.
  • Will be the single point of contact to Vice President of Merchandising to ensure entire schematic process for their categories are aligned to strategic goals and objectives.
  • Oversee and Train Category Assort Analyst to ensure deadlines are being adhered to and assortment strategies are being executed.
  • Maintain timelines as they pertain to category reset schedules and NICI schedules.
  • Provide National Category Directors tracking information on category resets and NICI; identify issues and opportunities, provide recommendations.
  • Facilitate communication between Merchandising Department and Retail Operations. Ensure approved criteria and best practices are followed.
  • Support in coordinating and creating hardware orders for category resets; communicates & coordinates deliveries as needed.

Are you qualified?

  • BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Non-perishable/perishable product knowledge and merchandising background preferred.
  • Schematic building experience preferred.
  • Strong PC skills with a preferred broad knowledge of any of the following; Apollo, Galleria, Designer Workstation, Pro Space, Spaceman, Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of internal Albertsons systems a plus.
  • Strong analytical skill with the ability to solve business problems.
  • Ability to interface and build relationships with senior management.
  • Team oriented with excellent time management and organization skills.
