What You'll Do The CV Database Administrator is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the optimal functioning of the multi-facility clinical cardiovascular database system for Oklahoma Heart Institute at Hillcrest. *Healthcare experience is more important than IT experience in this role. We are able to teach the IT aspect, but a basic understanding of healthcare and/or cardiology will be very helpful.* The successful candidate will be able to: Coordinate data registries for Hillcrest Medical Center, Hillcrest Hospital South, and Hillcrest Hospital Claremore Coordinate data input from other systems and data harvests for external organizations Ensure timely data submission to national databases such as the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Thoracic Surgery Serve as the trainer for all persons collecting data to ensure data accuracy and integrity Provide data entry in selected areas of primary responsibility Act as liaison between Hillcrest IT and database software vendor Coordinate software updates; test, customize, and de-bug software as necessary Work in conjunction with IT staff to determine hardware needs which are compatible with Hillcrest computer network requirements Troubleshoot system and act as primary contact for user problems Analyze data discrepancies in a timely manner and coordinate quality checks with clinical staff Design, compile, and execute data reports for administration and physicians to support performance improvement for the cardiovascular service line Work with CEOs, medical directors, and other members of the administration for multiple Hillcrest locations; provide updates and ongoing communication What You'll Bring Associate's degree in computer science or related field 3-5 years of IT experience Clinical background strongly preferred Knowledge of DOS, Windows, MS Access, Visual Basic required Must have a passion for excellence Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills Professionalism displayed through sound judgement, initiative, and flexibility Good interpersonal, communication, team-work, and customer service skills Strong organizational, problem-solving and follow-through skills Ability to multi-task constantly, react to changes quickly/productively, and tolerate interruptions Ability to perform work when no directions are given, and give directions to others Remain flexible, organized, professional and able to analyze, make sound decisions under stressful situations Demonstrate maturity and accountability What We Offer Competitive pay Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401k with Company match Company paid basic life insurance and long term disability coverage Generous paid time off, including an additional extended illness bank Tuition Reimbursement Advancement and career development opportunities
