We are currently hiring a District Manager or Area Manager in San Francisco.

The District Manager (DM)/ Area Manager (AM) is responsible for driving BBC sales volume through their BBC and distributor teams to their market's respective account base in accordance with direction from their Managers. The DM must deliver the annual market plan by distributor while managing resources to budget. The DM works closely with the On and Off Premise National Accounts teams to drive programs to the account level.

What You'll Do:

Selling & Negotiating:

  • Establishing goals, creating a selling story, anticipating and handling objections
  • Understanding and practicing bracketing, concession management and negotiation tactics
  • Executing on merchandising standards
  • Closing and following up in a timely manner
  • Portfolio selling in independent accounts and multi-unit distribution (local chains)

Motivating/Team Building:

  • Establishing rapport with wholesaler middle and upper level management
  • Instilling commitment and enthusiasm for high levels of performance
  • Working cooperatively with others across the organization

Wholesaler Management:

  • Objectives and tactics to achieve goals
  • Manage point-of-sale materials and inventory to meet market demands
  • Wholesaler team meetings inclusive of new item launces, programming, training, etc.
  • Analyzing and evaluating business results in the market and sharing through the wholesaler and BBC managers
  • Conduct Planning and Review meetings to the wholesaler to review business performance, programming and upcoming focus/initiatives
  • Budgeting forecasts by market
  • Involvement with pricing plan by brand and package in accordance with BBC direction and market trends

Must be fluent in:

  • Brand styles, brand priorities, national programs, and brand strategy
  • Romancing all products to include style, ingredients, and pairings
  • Beer industry trends and current market trends
  • Distributor structure, distributor portfolio and key distributor personnel
  • Knowledge of competitive brands and pricing

What We're Looking For:

Required:

  • District Manager: 4+ years of experience in consumer package sales or beverage sales with 2+ years of successful experience managing people
  • Area Manager: 7+ years of experience in consumer package sales of beverage sales with 3+ years of successful experience managing people

Preferred:

  • 4 year / Bachelor's degree
  • Adult alcohol industry experience

Working Conditions

  • 40%- 50% - 8 to 10 days a month Travel to make Retail and Distributor sales calls and meetings and work withs
  • Must be able to lift weight equivalent to one case of beer
