We are looking for a Program Engineer based in the Fremont/ Pal Alto / San Francisco, CA area. Engineering role for the Clevite Elastomers Light Vehicle Business Unit, with direct responsibility to both develop new and support existing technology. Support business unit functions as required; develop new ideas / concepts for elastomer products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct and develop innovative technical concepts for elastomers that provide NVH and performance solutions at a competitive advantage. Make design proposals for customer applications.
  • Identify new business opportunities and lead the activities to secure new business. Monitor passenger car and light truck markets to seek out and recommend new product/application opportunities.
  • Provide engineering support to Business Units, Manufacturing and customer groups as required. Support the TENPlus process and provide program management utilizing DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R and control plan development.
  • Champion VA/VE initiatives through product, process, and purchasing initiatives. Leverage intellectual property as a global strategic management tool.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures such as the quality management system, BOS and environmental health and safety.
  • Available to complete 24 hour turnaround on design concepts/models

Required Experience

EDUCATION: BS, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Direct automotive experience
  • Ability to fully design parts in CAD
  • Working knowledge/willingness to learn FEA
  • Strong communication skills required (written, oral and presentation).
  • Good computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point and Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with Elastomer product design / Development.
