Job Description
SUMMARY: 
The Loan Processor is responsible for processing residential and consumer loan applications as assigned. This position operates under the guidance and discretion of the Processing Specialist. Must be detailed oriented and consistently communicate clearly and effectively with loan parties, production and operations teams while providing an excellent personalized customer experience according to Rosedale Federal guidelines. The incumbent will communicate with customers and third-party vendors primarily through phone and email. 
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Processes assigned loans timely and efficiently according to the 21/30 brand promise, internal policies, rules and regulations with oversight and guidance from the Processing Lead as needed. 
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with applicants, loan officers, underwriters, closers, and other third parties. Provides timely and periodic status updates to applicants on their loan application. 
  • Works with borrowers to gather financial information and supporting documents; orders verifications from third party vendors and follows up on missing items to ensure all documents are received timely.
  • Enters and maintains detailed documentation and data on the loan origination system.  
  • Verifies the accuracy and completeness of file documents to help determine credit worthiness and complete the loan application.
  • Submits completed loan packages to Processing Specialist to perform pre-underwriting review for accuracy before submitting to underwriting.   
  • Supports the processing and administrative/clerical needs of the department.
  • Maintains current and thorough knowledge of loan products offer by Rosedale Federal as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Completes all assigned online or in-person Compliance, Human Resources, and Departmental training modules/classes.

SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THE JOB
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with a wide variety of external customers.
  • Strong skills in organizing, prioritizing and retaining information. 
  • Solid computer skills.  Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and proven accuracy with numbers.
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure and demonstrate adaptability.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of internal and external customer information.
  • Demonstrated dependability.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and handle changing priorities.
     
    EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in banking, finance, or lending.
  • Prior experience in mortgage and consumer loan processing strongly preferred.  
  • Familiarity with loan documents and mortgage products a plus.       
 
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time (50%-75% of the time).
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate customer needs.
