A Technical Drafter II is responsible to make sure for all aspects of the design coordination and completion of low voltage documentation for clients of CompuCom Systems run efficiently. Assists in coordinating a team of junior CAD drafters in the creation of various deliverables at different stages of the low voltage project using REVIT & AutoCAD. Establishes initial design specifications, then cascades final completion of work to junior CAD designers and drafters. Instructs draftsmen in proper procedures as well as ensures specifications are properly sourced and standards are met.

The role acts as a liaison between the CAD team and the client project engineering team. Applicants must enjoy taking initiative and being innovative. We re looking for someone who is focused on embracing and evolving new design techniques and CAD development processes. The ideal candidate will be eager to push themselves to deliver the best products possible and deliver on time.

Primary / Key Responsibilities:
  • Use Revit independently, coordinate computer-aided design for existing and new Low Voltage
  • Design projects throughout the life of the project under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment
  • Utilize established design / drafting standards and design processes to create prints, cut sheets, and process change orders in a timely manner for different projects
  • Utilize and maintain spreadsheets to track project information
  • Coordinate Revit library management and Revit template maintenance for multiple projects
  • Conform to project-specific QA / QC efforts and scheduling requirements
  • May spend a portion of time coordinating and leading project assignments of junior CAD Drafters
  • Engage in low voltage design development process with the CAD and engineering team
  • Attend project meetings and communicate with the client s engineering, project management staff, and CompuCom installations teams to resolve conflicts using drawings
  • Travel, on a limited basis, client office and project sites
  • Other duties and administrative tasks as assigned
