Job Description

Job Summary The Technical Librarian is responsible for updating and maintaining technical library material to ensure data is current, complete, accurate, and available in a timely manner. Principal Accountabilities Operates a computer-aided drafting (CAD) program to review, maintain, edit, and produce technical documentation such as installation plans; facility plans; building history files; street address listings; and engineering drawings, including as-builts. Revises/prepares drawings or computer models of structures, systems, parts, or equipment. Works from sketches, marked-up prints, computer models, manual, and/or information supplied by an engineer to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments. Selects appropriate templates/computer programs to complete assignments. Establishes a filing system to ensure material is retrievable in a timely way. Responsible for the provision of all technical publications required by facility and maintenance personnel. Maintains a tracking record on each item retrieved and date returned. Performs other qualified duties as assigned Minimum Requirements Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with CAD software, preferably AutoCAD. Must be eligible for a TS/SCI security clearance Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite High School Diploma or equivalent Normal office environment with controlled temperature and lighting conditions. Must possess the ability to see details at close range (near vision). Preferred Qualifications Thorough knowledge and ability to operate computer-aided drafting (CAD) program and equipment. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Visio. Working hnowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology Familiarity with the materials, methods and tools used in building operations and maintenance. Knowledge of the principles involved in producing technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models. Ability to independently resolve drafting problems, if encountered. Bachelor's degree preferredMinimum of three (3) years of experience working with CAD software, preferably AutoCAD.
