Description SHIFT: Day JobSCHEDULE: Full-time Associate General Counsel Senior This position is open to remote with residing within one hour of an Anthem core office. This position will be part of Diversified Business Group, reporting to the DBG General Counsel, and will focus on complex and strategic customer and partnership agreements. DBG provides services to Anthem membership but also has agreements in place with a wide variety of external customers. Health care law expertise is required in order to help the DBG business navigate the legal issues that arise when contracting with health plans, employer groups, and providers across all lines of business (Commercial, Medicare & Medicaid). Requires a high level of attention to detail and an ability to juggle multiple tasks and clients. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:+ Assists the business leadership with formulating strategies for creating complex business arrangements to support DBG's growth and innovation efforts + Participates in internal and external negotiations to finalize contractual terms, such as data use and intellectual property, restrictive covenants, and compensation. + Drafts contractual documents + Identifies potential legal issues with proposed business and product models + Confers with other DBG and Anthem senior leaders + Works on extremely complex and multifaceted problems in which analysis of solutions and/or facts require an evaluation of intangible variables. + Develops methods, approaches and evaluation criteria for advising the business on level of risk + Manages multiple, high-profile, fast moving projects Qualifications + Requires a JD; current license to practice law; 15 years of specific industry and/or technical legal experience post licensure including experience in managing outside counsel; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.+ Strong analytical skills and detail oriented.
