JOB DESCRIPTION
DISYS is seeking an IT Project Coordinator for our client in Washington, DC. This person will be a PMO liaison working with data analysts and have experience handling 4+ projects at one time.

IT Project Coordinator to support a Federal Project Management Office (PMO) with a variety of IT projects. The IT Project Coordinator should have experience as a Project Manager in the government (Federal Government preferred) or the private sector to support the United States Capitol Police (Legislative Branch) Office of Information Systems (OIS). Work includes but is not limited to project management, customer management, contract management, budgeting, schedule development and tracking, risk management, communications, and project reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide concurrent support of full-life cycle IT project management to multiple IT Projects of various sizes, scope, and impact.
  • Work closely with OIS staff to ensure adherence to scope, schedule, and budget, and to ensure successful project execution.
  • Provide consultation to stakeholders on best way to achieve IT project objectives.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Create and/or facilitate the development of project documents, including project plans and schedules, business and project requirements, strategic communications, meeting agendas and notes, retrospectives & lessons learned, and closeout communications as needed.
  • Proactively identify project risks and issues and follow up as needed to ensure resolution.
  • Anticipate customer needs by identifying gaps and proposing recommendations to address them.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs as defined by governance processes.
  • Interface with senior management, solution design, stakeholders, implementation team members, vendors, and subcontractors regarding project status and progress.
  • Provide project management support through all phases, including initiation, concept development, planning, execution, and operations & maintenance as needed and defined by governance processes.
  • Track project performance including completion of short- and long-term goals and objectives using governance process and designated tools, including MS Project 2016, Project Server 2016, and SharePoint 2016.
  • As support to the PMO, coordinates with groups managing internal control reviews and processes to document, track and ensure completion of findings and actions.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Bachelors Degree in Business Management, Information Technology or related field. Minimum of 5 years experience managing and monitoring comprehensive projects (that use bi-modal project methodologies) in an IT portfolio, various sizes including ones that are enterprise-wide (in any sector, state, local, private or federal). Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or some other equivalent certificate

Prior experience managing complex tasks using MS Project or Project Server.

Must have strong customer service orientation, project leadership and interpersonal skills with ability to lead an agile or waterfall-based team assigned to the various projects through strong leadership, engagement and team collaboration. NOTE: this position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities managing people per se, more so the person will manage all the interdependencies of the projects. As the project teams may include a variety of representatives outside the Perspecta contract, an ability to navigate and problem solve working with those assigned contractors and Federal employees is critical.

Must be comfortable in an agile work environment with ability to operate in a nimble, flexible way with overall goal of yielding success for the team.

Must have excellent writing, communication, and organization skills.

Must be flexible within approach in delivery of work.

High level of proficiency in Microsoft Suite required (expert level required).

Strongly prefer consultant who has worked in a MS SharePoint environment.

Must be a US Citizen.
