Overview We are currently seeking an experienced Civil and/or Structural Engineer to join our team in the State of Wisconsin. This person can be located in any city in Wisconsin. The ideal candidate has broad experience within the engineering and/or construction fields. A successful applicant may have any of the following work experience: design, construction, field experience, or construction management/ administration experience in any civil discipline. They should be curious and have the natural ability of deduction and enjoy solving problems. Successful candidates will have an outgoing personality, self-confidence, and need to be a team players. Responsibilities In this position you will apply your technical knowledge and previous work experiences to help assess and determine the origin and cause failures of a large variety of complex and unique problems for our clients. Some of these problems will include: design, construction, safety and OSHA compliance, wind damage, property condition assessments, foundations, hydrology, and flooding assessments. Additionally, you may be asked to make structural assessments from a variety of causes such as: fire, wind, impact, construction standard of care, estimation, vibration claims. You will work both alone and as part of a team which includes a variety of engineering disciplines, architects, and scientists, to determine the root cause of a variety of incidents. You will perform timely accurate analysis, prepare reports, and present your findings to the client and other interested parties. You must be able to manage several projects simultaneously and be a well-organized, detail-orientated multi-tasker. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are essential as are report writing skills. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in any Civil Discipline Professional Engineering (P.E.) License or Structural Engineering (S.E.) License preferred; EI with applicable experience and the ability to obtain licensure will be considered General Contractor's License is a plus 5 plus years of experience which include at least two of the following: Design, Structures, Transportation, Geotechnical, Water Wastewater, Commercial Buildings, Resident Engineer, Estimation, Residential Construction, Knowledge of variety of Construction Documents, Construction Administration and Construction Management Strong knowledge of fundamental engineering principles and building component assemblies Analytical skills and ability to resolve complex problems Working knowledge of building codes, standards, and other technical references The ability to clearly communicate engineering/architectural issues to clients and other interested parties, both verbally and in written reports. Must be hands-on in conducting field investigations Requires prompt responsiveness to peers and clients The ability to lift 50 pounds Ability to crawl and climb ladders Occasionally work will require unusual hours Projects locations vary and will require out of town travel (mostly day trips)
