Job Description
The Legal Department of JPMorgan Chase & Co. provides legal services and advice to the Firm globally. Legal is responsible for, among other things: managing actual and potential litigation and enforcement matters, including internal reviews and investigations related to such matters advising on products and services, including contract negotiation and documentation advising on offering and marketing documents and new business initiatives managing dispute resolution interpreting existing laws, rules and regulations, and advising on changes thereto advising on advocacy in connection with contemplated and proposed laws, rules and regulations, and providing legal advice to the Board of Directors, the business and functions. Legal selects, engages and manages outside counsel for the Firm on all matters in which outside counsel is engaged.We are currently seeking an experienced, highly skilled lawyer to provide legal support to J.P. Morgan's U.S. Wholesale Payments business. J.P. Morgan's Wholesale Payments business, which is part of its Corporate and Investment Bank, is one of the world's largest providers of cash management, liquidity and escrow services. The position will be responsible for legal assistance on the full range of Wholesale Payments contracts with our Commercial Banking and Corporate and Investment Bank clients. You will join a successful, well established team of professionals, and will be provided with extensive training upon joining followed by continued on the job support when needed. Qualifications:Law school degree (JD). A minimum of five years post-admission experience with a major law firm or financial institution. Attorney's legal licensing must be in compliance with the regulations of the local jurisdiction where the attorney will work prior to commencement of employment. Familiarity with banking law and Uniform Commercial Code Articles 4 and 4A is desirable, but not required. Experience with Federal Government contracting is desirable, but not required. All candidates for roles in the Legal department must successfully complete a conflicts of interest clearance review prior to commencement of employment.
