Together, we can help people build stronger communities - we're just getting started. **Summary:** Facebook is seeking a highly motivated, talented attorney to work on Facebook's Legal Privacy Team to support privacy issues for our Growth and Social Impact teams. This role is product-focused and the ideal candidate will be eager to roll up their sleeves and problem-solve on complex, privacy-forward issues, working closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative compliance solutions to support Facebook's suite of products and services. It's an opportunity to work on some of the most important issues - not only at Facebook, but also in the world right now - like elections, Covid and bringing faster internet to rural and less developed areas. You will be joining a collaborative team of privacy lawyers who identify, evaluate and address privacy risk in light of privacy laws, compliance obligations and policies, train on privacy matters, and collaborate closely with other legal teams as well as cross-functional privacy partners to provide global legal advice. We are looking for a candidate who has a solid understanding of privacy laws and principles, is a team player and collaborates well, and is able to practically weigh and manage risks around privacy. **Required Skills:** 1. Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in areas of data use and global privacy laws (including state and federal consumer protection and privacy laws, GDPR and other global privacy laws) and advise on the impact of the same on Facebook's business 2. Work closely with product counsel and product teams to guide privacy-forward product development and evaluate the impact of privacy laws, regulatory guidance and enforcement actions 3. Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving privacy analysis and compliance with cross-functional stakeholders across Facebook's business, policy, legal, communications, security, and other departments 4. Support members of the legal, business, and policy teams on privacy and security-related legal matters, including areas related to partnerships, acquisitions, integrations, and other business development opportunities 5. Develop global regulatory strategy in connection with new product features and initiatives and maintain Facebook's ongoing privacy-by-design processes 6. Manage internal privacy compliance programs and processes to ensure we meet our obligations under those programs 7. Help to develop and conduct role-specific privacy trainings **Minimum Qualifications:** 8. J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar 9. 5+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience 10. Experience advising on privacy legal risks and mitigations, with working knowledge of relevant privacy laws including GDPR, CCPA and/or LGPD 11. Business judgment and client counseling experience **Preferred Qualifications:** 12. In-house or government experience with applicable privacy, regulatory, or product counseling, particularly at a technology company and/or financial institution 13. Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and making judgments under deadlines 14.
