THE ROLE Successful candidates for positions in the U.S. Bank Law Division consistently provide excellent advice and guidance to clients and colleagues on a variety of legal matters. The U.S. Bank Law Division is seeking an attorney to lead a team of lawyers and support staff which provides legal counsel to U.S. Bank's Wealth Management and Investment Services businesses. Trust, banking, investment management, and securities activities in these areas require compliance with a complex legal framework of federal laws and regulations, multiple state laws, and fiduciary common law. Wealth Management from U.S. Bank and U.S. Bancorp Investments offers comprehensive wealth management services to individuals and families across a wide range of wealth levels. U.S. Bank provides banking, trust, planning and investments. U.S. Bancorp Investments, a broker-dealer and registered investment adviser, delivers planning, investment, insurance and brokerage services. Investment Services provides corporate trust, custody and fund services tailored to a diverse client base. With more than $7.1 trillion in assets under custody and administration, Investment Services operates a network of more than 4,600 employees in over 100 offices across the U.S. and Europe. U.S. Bank is currently the top provider of corporate trust services in the US for CLO, structured finance and municipal transactions. Services to investment funds include management of a proprietary money market fund complex, the First American Funds, and the provision of fund administration, transfer agency and custody services to client funds domiciled in the US, Ireland and Luxembourg. Attorneys advising the Wealth Management and Investment Services businesses provide a variety of legal advice and services including interpretation of applicable laws and regulations; drafting and negotiating of client and vendor documents; and advising management concerning client matters, new products, implementation of regulations, acquisitions and other business activities. The attorney team represents expertise in a broad range of laws and regulations including the Trust Indenture Act; ERISA; FINRA Rules; applicable tax regulations; the Investment Company Act of 1940; the Investment Adviser Act of 1940; Federal banking law/regulations including 12 CFR 9; and state laws such as the Uniform Commercial Code, Uniform Trust Code and the Uniform Prudent Investor Act.
