About Antelope Valley Family Optometry

Established in 1988, Antelope Valley Family Optometry is committed to delivering exceptional service to enhance vision care for the entire family. For over 30 years, this practice has provided full-service optometry to families and residents in the Antelope Valley region of all ages, insurances, and visual/medical diagnoses. The practice specializes in ocular diseases, specialty contacts, and surgical co-management. Conveniently located on East Palmdale Blvd., the practice is adjacent to the Palmdale International Shopping Mall, and offers easy access to CA-14, CA-122 and CA-138. To support the practices continued growth, Antelope Valley Family Optometry is looking to add an additional provider to its highly-trained staff of three providers and five staff members.

Committed to providing personalized care to each patient, this practice uses state-of-the-art vision care technology to diagnose and treat a wide array of eye diseases. The practices utilizes the following automated instruments:Optos wide field digital retinal imaging,threshold visual field, FDT, Pachymetry, iCare tonometer, and corneal topographer. Patients enjoy a family-friendly shopping experience as they browse a wide selection of optical frames and sunglasses from the optical boutique for all budgets-plus an onsite finishing lab is ready to conveniently service patients.

About the opening

The practice is seeking an Associate Optometrist who is passionate about providing personalized and individualized care to ensure excellent eye health and vision care for all patients. In this role, you will provide full-scope optometry including in-depth eye exams and prescribe specialty contact lenses of all modalities: soft, hybrid and scleral. The current office hours are 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday; and 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday. The Associate Optometrist will work 24 to 32 hours a week-compensation and benefits will be commensurate with experience.

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as compassion for patient health and safety. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, responsible, service-oriented, community-involved, and willing to integrate new techniques and innovations that improve patient care and services.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Optometrist license in the state of California
  • Glaucoma certification
  • Specialty contact lenses
  • Therapeutic license
