Overview

The Director of Network Operations Control (DNOC) has direct oversight and responsibility for all ongoing and imminent operations for Atlas, Polar, and Southern. The position is part of a 24/7 operation that ensures that all operating groups (Flight Ops, Tech Ops, System Operations, and Ground Ops) are executing their functions safely and effectively. The DNOC has the direct responsibility and delegated authority for determining priorities and policy for ongoing network operations.

Responsibilities
    Ensuring all departments and groups in the ops center are running effectively and focused on maintaining a safe and compliant operation
  • Supporting operational safety and compliance by following published standards, procedures, and SMS guidelines
  • Provide leadership and direction in a complex and high stress environment
  • Proactively monitor and action key departmental metrics for network compliance and efficiency
  • Oversight and support of Company Policy in the ops center
  • Protection of Employees and Assets
  • Prioritization and optimization of resources based on Corporate objectives, Fleet Requirements, Marketing priority, and Customer needs
  • Communication of operationally pertinent information
  • Optimization of network operations processes and workflows of normal, non-normal, or critical network situations.
  • Bring team members together to solve problems and resolve network constraints by directly engaging team leadership with Tiger Teams or Scrums
  • Urgent Items and Emergency Management
  • The DNOC role is focused on process and airline management
  • Ensure policies and procedures of the ops center are followed
  • Oversight of the airline operation to ensure Safety, Reliability and Operations Initiatives to ensure the highest degree of a safe operation
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five (5) years in operational management with a scheduled air carrier or U.S. military aviation operations or U.S. Government department or agency that deals directly with aviation
  • BS or BA degree in aviation or related discipline required or equivalent relevant experience required
  • Preferred FAA Airmen Certificate with one of the following:
    • An FAA commercial pilot or airline transport certificate
    • An A&P License
    • An FAA aircraft dispatcher certificate

Skills:

  • Expert knowledge and extensive experience in dispatch, maintenance control, crew management, or system operations
  • Must have strong communication and organizational skills and be able to effectively leverage I.T. tools to extract information to make informed operational decisions
