FOX 5 TV in Washington, DC is in search of a talented and creative Studio Technician to operate broadcast equipment in support of our top rated newscasts. The ideal candidate should be comfortable operating various broadcast components in a fast-paced, live production control room.The Studio Technician will operate the following: broadcast production switchers, robotic cameras, character generators, playout servers, audio consoles, master control switchers, and other production equipment.This position will perform various functions including, but not limited to: technical director, audio operator, robotic camera, master control operator, floor director. Candidates should have a solid understanding of live production environments, specifically news production. Experience with automated control room environments is a plus.Ideal candidate will be able to take direction, think critically under pressure, and work professionally as part of a cohesive team within specific time constraints. Friendly, respectful and collaborative.Interact effectively and professionally with on-air staff, off-air staff and production crew. Qualifications: 3 years recent experience in the broadcast technician, master control and news production environment. HS Diploma (or equivalent) required. College degree preferred. Ability to operate live broadcast production equipment. Sit and stand for extended periods of time. Positive attitude, good judgment and excellent communication skills. WTTG/WDCA is a 24/7 operation.Varied shifts, OT, weekends & holidays will be required.
