Job Description:

Boart Longyear is looking to hire a new North America Accounting Manager. This position will be based in our corporate office in West Valley City, UT. The North American Controller is a key member of the finance team that directs and develops the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, initiatives and controls for the US, Canada and Mexico.

The Accounting Manager will oversee the high performing, multi-regional accounting team and ensure sound leadership and mentoring skills are demonstrated. They will have strong inter-personal skills and will have the ability to flex their management style to effectively manage down, across and up the organization. They must be able to partner with all functions across the organization, providing key financial insights, expertise and analysis to the North America Controller and members of the Finance team. The Accounting Manager must be highly organized, results-driven and detail-oriented. The Accounting Manager reports to the North America Controller and manages several direct reports in the US and Canada.

Primary Duties Include

• Oversee the entirety of the close process, including thorough review of the income statement and balance sheet in the USA, Canada and Mexico

• Manage and provide ongoing training to accounting personnel

• Prepare and review internal and external reporting and compliance documents.

• Reconcile and analyze accounts monthly, review reconciliations and reports prepared by others, and promptly research and correct any variances

• Reviews and approves general ledger journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations

• Provide support for audits and reviews performed by external auditors

• Assist in global inventory projects and manage a regional inventory costing team.

• Lead a team of intercompany accountants who are responsible for accurately reporting intercompany transactions which occur throughout the globe

• Engages in constant process improvements and automations

• Completes various ad hoc projects for Regional Controller

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required

• Master's degree or CPA preferred but not required

• 5+ years of progressive experience

• Public Accounting experience preferred (Will consider someone currently in Public Accounting)

• Manufacturing Background

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

• Self-motivated and detail oriented
