Job Description:
AriensCo is looking for a detail oriented Technical Illustrator. The Technical Illustrator is responsible for supporting the strategy around AriensCo printed and electronic technical materials. This position may be remote.
The Day to Day...
Create, design, and develop AriensCo technical publications printed and electronic collateral.
Consult with client or supervisor/manager to evaluate individual project needs.
Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, concision, style and terminology.
Oversee technical information concerning feasibility of designs, material properties, limitations and conformance issues.
Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format and content.
Act as an integral component within AriensCo technical publishing department
Study prints, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mock-ups and product samples to provide the best instructions when generating technical publications collateral.
Interview production and engineering personnel and reads journals, reports and other materials to become familiar with product technologies.
Develop technical illustrations and instructions for use in technical publications and assembly. Produces CAD renderings, selects photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material.
Operate digital camera and edit images according to set standards.
Complete graphics design according to set standards regarding clarity, concision, style and durability.
Organize, manage and complete the conversion of concept artwork into reproducible and traceable part numbers.
Maintain consistency of collateral while recommending changes to improve results.
The Qualifications...
High School Diploma required.
Technical degree or certificate related to technical Illustration, desktop publishing, or technical communication preferred.
A minimum of 3 years applicable technical documentation experience required.
Knowledge of software programs to include - Adobe Creative Suite, Acrobat, EPDM, AS400, word processing software. FrameMaker or InDesign a plus.
Experience with CAD 3D modeling software and creating exploded views. SolidWorks experience a plus.
Knowledge of general database software/programs.
Comfortable with bills of materials, technical drawings and blueprints.
Mechanical aptitude. Manufacturing or machinery experience a plus.
Must be detail orientated.
Provide assistance as needed to Ariens engineering, purchasing and marketing teams.
