Overview

By Light is hiring an AV Technician to join our team supporting a DOD customer. The A/V Technician is responsible for providing technical support of AV systems, conference rooms, Video Teleconferencing (VTC) rooms, control rooms, audiovisual display systems, and auditoriums.

Responsibilities
    Provides AV technical support to identify, isolate and repair AV/VTC equipment and systems.
  • Performs periodic preventive maintenance of AV / VTC equipment to reduce down time.
  • Coordinates and processes conference room requests via Microsoft Outlook.
  • Provides operation of video switchers for up to 8 cameras plus other video and computer sources with a full understanding of live video switched events and video lighting techniques.
  • Operates analog, digital videotape machines and digital disk recorders for playback and recording.
  • Monitors and manages multi-image and multiple screens, electronic based presentations.
  • Monitors and controls audio using audio mixers, audio amplification, enhancement equipment, audio source assignments, routing, patching, and distribution.
  • Monitors and operates AMX or other control systems via touch screen or computer interface.
  • Troubleshoots all systems to solve problems before, during, and after live presentations.
  • Terminates fiber, BNC, audio and digital display cables/wires.
  • Assists with technical aspects of audiovisual production and sets up audiovisual equipment for training and public information presentations.
  • Communicates with customers over the telephone and in person on troubleshooting issues to establish priorities and troubleshoot work in-progress technical issues.
  • Maintains AV systems.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.
Required Experience/Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years Audio Visual experience
Preferred Experience/Qualifications
  • Must have knowledge of microphone types, usage and placement.
  • Must have experience with both wireless and hard wired microphones.
  • Must have a full understanding of all signal routing via patch panels as well as RGB, SDI, standard and digital video, and audio routers.
  • Must have an in depth understanding of broadcast audio and video, multimedia, VTC (Video Teleconferencing) systems, video and audio streaming technologies and standards.
Special Requirements/Security Clearance
  • TS/SCI clearance required
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift large AV items such as televisions. All large format televisions will be a group lift
