Skookum, an award winning, non-profit organization seeks a Grounds Maintenance Worker to maintain, repair, and provide service on all grounds to ensure that they are clean, safe, and attractive.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:Performs mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, aeration and fertilization; weed and brush control; flower bed services; tree and shrub pruning; erosion control; debris, drain and ditch cleanup.
Maintains all grounds and road shoulders in specified areas.
Ensures that all ruts are repaired within (2) working days of lawn moving completion.
Picks up and removes all rubbish, debris, and trash, which includes but is not limited to rocks, paper, pine, limbs and other portable objects.
Trims and prunes shrubs, ground covers, native plants, and trees planted in improved grounds according to their natural growth habit for proper health, attractive appearance in the appropriate season.
Cleans and maintains tools and equipment.
Maintains professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.
Three (3) years of experience in Grounds Maintenance or related field preferred.
Must be able to operate tractor and commercial grade riding mowers and/or other equipment as necessary.
Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
Reading and understanding contract requirements and maps.
Demonstrate ability to multi-task throughout the work day, with constant interruptions.
Position duties require working outside in the weather. Conditions may include rain, cold and/or heat.
Work site location can include steep inclines, such as slopes, hills, and uneven ground surfaces.
Requirements:
Valid State Driver's license preferred with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance company.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearance as background checks will be conducted for this position.
