Position Overview:

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, a multipurpose laboratory for astrophysics, photon science, accelerator and particle physics research, has an employment opportunity available for an undergraduate student in physics or engineering with an interest in rf accelerators, electromagnetics, quantum information science (QIS) or advanced manufacturing and seeking to gain work experience.The intern will be part of a growing team at SLAC and Stanford University working to develop these topics. They will assist in the growth of these projects and will perform simulation, data analysis, experimental or design work materials analysis at either SLAC or the Stanford Nano Shared Facilities.

Your specific responsibilities include:

Note: This is an hourly, non-benefits eligible temporary-nonexempt internship position (works at 50% full-time equivalent or more, not to exceed 980 hours in six consecutive months). Eligible applicants must be at least 18 years of age, currently enrolled in an educational program or recently graduated, and have US work authorization. This is a summer internship for 12-14 weeks in the May to September 2020 timeframe. Due to COVID-19 related curtailment of on-site activities, the job duties for this position may be required to be performed from home. Any on-site activities that may be performed as part of this job will be subject to the SLAC rules and restrictions governing COVID-19 safety protocols.

To be successful in this position:

• Must be currently enrolled in an educational program or recently graduated in engineering, physics, computer science or related field.
