Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for vocational skills and behavior training for the assigned participant as the individual participates in vocational training at the facility or in the community. Responsible for the safety of all participants.
Supervises, supports and instructs assigned clients at the facility or in community activities relating in a manner that is respectful, supportive, and therapeutic.
Works with all assigned clients including those with behavior deficits or specific medical concerns including communicable diseases. Maintains necessary skills to conduct activities, identify safety and health concerns, and intervene effectively with behavioral issues such as aggressive behavior.
Responsible for the daily recording and data entry of time and production information for assigned participant.
Works with Program Specialists and other program staff in developing and implementing client goals and maintaining all records as required to include: Assessment forms, Performance Measurement, orientation for new/transfer departments, etc. in accordance with set schedules.
Provides instruction and guidance for assigned client in maintaining good work habits, such as punctuality, personal awareness, interpersonal skills, job skills, work behaviors and attitudes, safety rules and regulations and housekeeping of personal work area, etc. Monitors assigned client at all times.
Attends and participates in scheduled meetings to include, but not be limited to: departmental, client worker reviews, interdepartmental, committee meetings, organizational, in addition to a minimum of 24 hours of training presentations to meet regulatory requirements. etc.
Assists with evacuation of clients during fire drills/emergencies; and participates in all safety related activities. Performs all duties in a safe manner and ensures that assigned clients adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
Communicates concerns, problems, etc. to the Program Specialist and the Supervisor.
Job Qualifications:
High School Diploma and three years work experience with one year in Human Services, preferably with individuals with behavioral issues or two years post high school education in Human Services
Valid and current drivers license and reliable vehicle
Excellent Communication Skills
Must be able to work maturely with confidential information
Ability to work beyond normal schedule as needed
Ability to work in a warehouse environment
Ability to walk and stand a full work day
Ability to obtain and maintain certifications in CPR and First Aid
Must complete and successfully pass State background check, Child Abuse Clearance and FBI Clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain ACRE Certification
Other Relevant Job Information:
Salary Range $13.43 to $14.77 based on experience.
