The ADAS Validation Engineer will develop and execute test plans and procedures for autonomous driving vehicles. Testing will include public road testing and scenario tests on a closed facility (Chelsea Proving Grounds). Hours and time of day can vary based on testing needs.
Job responsibilities of System Validation Engineer are as follows but not limited to:
Review of System, Subsystem, and Component specifications.
Participate in design and schematic reviews.
Develop test plans and procedures to validate specifications.
Execute test plans at scheduled loop testing and focused testing loops and document results.
Provide status of test results.
Report and root cause all issues discovered and drive them to closure in a timely manner.
Create and update DVP&R for all system test validation.
The extensive use of CAN / Ethernet tools and traditional electrical equipment to test and troubleshoot vehicle systems. Participate and resolve hot quality issues.
Includes triage for initial root cause, collection of supporting data, managing root cause and verification for issues found on the Validation properties to quickly identify the correct Issue Solver.
Participate in meetings to make sure the issues are being moved properly and that the timing for the next loop is being met.
Ensure that issues contain all pertinent information.
Completion of compliance reports.
Assist the production execution team at the assembly plant for various build cycles.
Subject Matter Expert (SME) test plan coaching for Validation engineers on the other vehicle lines.
EOL testing issues on VSIM/PWB- support SWAT when needed.
System bench issues root cause and verification support.
