The Advanced Feature Ideation & Concept lead will:
Develop a deep understanding of the customer and their needs through human centered design methodologies (such as user clinics, social listing, surveys, etc) in collaboration with Consumer Insights, Brand, Design Studio and Feature Planning teams.
Participate in research events such as whitespace, immersion day events and product focused workshops to identify shifting consumer preferences and industry trends that could drive new feature innovation.
Analyze collected observations and customer voice to articulate user values, needs and pain points to define general problem statements to guide ideation.
Generate far reaching what if statements based on future technology trends and developments.
Lead cross-functional ideation focus areas that generate concepts to address customer's unmet needs (focusing primarily on technical areas that require Connected Services and EE Systems).
Create low fidelity physical or virtual prototypes to prove out concepts, obtain clinic feedback and to demonstrate functionality to platform teams.
Test concept solutions through customer use and gather feedback.
Refine solutions based on customer input and technical feasibility.
Basic Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Materials /Chemical/ Civil/ Aerospace/Computer/Computer Science or equivalent) from an ABET accredited or equivalent program
Five years of relevant experience
Experience in automotive and/or product development with focus on new feature development, innovation and/or electrical systems and components
Virtual prototyping skills (such as Teamcenter, CAD Modeling, graphic design using Adobe Suite, video editing, Matlab and/or Blender)
