DUTIES:

Act as responsible project manager for the concept, design, development, and production support of Powertrain System Components and Power Cylinder Systems, including Customer Program Development (APQP); Part Design; Verification & Validation Testing; Failure Analysis; Value Analysis/Value Engineering; Customer Interfacing and Simultaneous Engineering with the manufacturing plants. Actively participate in the appropriate business unit/group meetings, manage the current business situation, and set the future direction of the business. Evaluate business issues and prioritize activities. Prepare tests requests, evaluate test results, and publish final test reports. Process Sample Orders and Request for Quotes. Assist in root cause analysis of EOT (End of Test) or field returned parts. Develop new products as the designated project manager for the Customer Program Development (APQP) process, if required, also with other global plants and tech centers. Ensure that the product design is in accordance to the agreed customer requirements. Work with manufacturing plants to assure manufacturability of designs. Assist in implementing new designs. Prepare detailed failure analysis reports. Work closely with the sales team to develop specific customer account strategies. Develop power cylinder products based on the input from experienced Application Engineers. Perform detailed customer presentations. Manage and coordinate multiple projects concurrently. Develop new products and materials to meet the changing demands of the marketplace. Completely direct the engineering activities of a program. Assist/direct the education and training of less experienced Application Engineers. Take a lead role in major advanced engineering projects. 20% domestic travel to plant and customer locations.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and eight (8) years of experience in job offered or related position required. Experience must include: working with engine performance and test methods of powertrain systems; working with powertrain components and power cylinder systems; coordinating statistics and CAE results; conceptualizing new designs and concepts; and experience with tolerance stack ups and GD&T.
