Job Description

Torch Technologies, a 100% Employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Big Data Analysis Engineer with experience developing automation for batch driven processes and performing analysis on large datasets using tools like Python to process meaningful information with reports supporting the Ground Vehicle System Center (GVSC) at Detroit Arsenal, MI. Candidate is expected support studies, technical assessments, and architectural-level analyses. Candidate will work directly with customers to determine the requirements and analysis goals. Candidate will provide engineering/analytical support to produce objective insights and analytic justification to inform future technology and capability investment decisions. Candidate is expected to develop in fast iteration producing maintainable, testable, well-structured applications. Candidate should be dependable and self-motivated, eager to overcome challenges and solve problems. Previous experience working within a DoD environment is a plus, but not required.

Job Requirements

• A technical degree, preferably in math, engineering, or science, with5-25 years of experience in related work
• Experience programming languages like C++
• Experience with scripting languages like Python
• Experience with databases and big data management
• Experience with automation and generation of reports
• Experience with Linux Operating Systems
• Familiarity with source control repositories such as Git and Gitlab
• Must be a team player and know the importance of listening to others. Be a positive, active, and contributing member of the team.
• This position may require occasional and infrequent travel. This position requires access to protected government data and as such required an appropriate background check and may require a DOD security clearance.
