As part of the Information Technology Team a Business System Analyst under the guidance of the BSA Manager and respective development managers participates in the creation of new products and features from the idea stage to launch. In this role, the Business Systems Analyst acts as the liaison between the business stakeholders and the development team to create user stories and acceptance criteria to support the development of high-quality desktop, browser-based and native mobile applications across multiple projects used by ECRI business users and thousands of organizations in the USA and worldwide. This is a Contract position that is also virtual/remote work. We are ONLY accepting direct applicants, not via agencies.

Essential Functions Statements(s)

  • Participate on an agile team as a Business Systems Analyst
  • Partner with business stakeholders to create and define User Stories and Acceptance Criteria that meet the business need.
  • Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers
  • Develop and conduct peer reviews of the acceptance criteria to ensure that requirements are correctly interpreted.
  • Partner with UX Designer to clearly define and document software design and usability.
  • Create, edit, prioritize and manage the backlog of User Stories
  • Participate in planning, estimation, daily standup and retrospective meetings
  • Responsible for reviewing and accepting completed User Stories
  • Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of the requirements to stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.
  • Deliver internal training on new feature enhancements or products to the business unit.

Accountability Metrics:

  • Requirements which meet the needs of the market as defined by the business
  • On time high quality delivery of projects
Qualifications

Experience:

  • 3+ years' experience as a Business Systems Analyst
  • 3+ years' experience in Agile Methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Healthcare business experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Content Management Systems, Contentful preferred
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience using issue tracking tools to manage the release process
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentational skills
  • Proven experience working with cross-functional and virtual teams
  • Strong team player with ability to multi-task
  • Experience working with Content Management Systems (like Contentful), cloud computing platforms (like Azure) and/or search analytics engines (like Elasticsearch) a plus.
  • Regional resident preferred, must be available during ECRI core hours, 10 am to 3 pm EST, onsite attendance at Assigned Location may be required up to 20% a month.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or equivalent experience

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 2007+
  • Proficient with Microsoft Visio
  • Proficient with Atlassian Jira or other issue tracking tools
  • Proficient with Atlassian Confluence or other collaboration tools
