DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
TITLE: Application Engineer 2

DUTIES: Involve in concept, design, development, and production support of ACIS Ignition System including Customer Program Development (APQP); Part Design; Verification & Validation Testing; Failure Analysis; Value Analyses/ Value Engineering; Customer Interfacing and Simultaneous Engineering with the manufacturing plants. Manage the current business situation as well as set the future direction of the business. Prepare detailed failure analysis reports. Analyze combustion performance based on industry standard combustion parameters. Diagnose and recommend operating parameter or design changes based on test data (e.g. combustion analysis, engine and test stand testing, etc.). Demonstrate a solid understanding of advanced ignition systems: pre-chamber plugs, multi-strike ignition, plasma ignition, etc. and the competitive environment related. Develop new products as the designated project manager for the Customer Program Development (APQP) process. Perform detailed customer presentations. Respond to customer and business group needs. Problem solve and methodically organize a root cause investigation for End of Test results or field returned parts. Take a lead role in minor advanced engineering projects. Provide support as requested by supervisor. 10% domestic, 10% international travel required.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in physics or mechanical engineer required. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related position is required. Experience must include: working with OEM customers; conduct engine tests and prepare reports for internal and customer use; working with combustion and ignition systems; working with high voltage plasma systems; working with electricity and magnetism fundamentals; working with advanced combustion strategies: lean, EGR, and HCCI: and program / project management .
