Quality Tool is a growing manufacturer of metal components for Fortune 500 companies in the medical, industrial, electronics, aerospace, and defense industries. Our ISO certified precision metal capabilities in Brookings, SD and St. Paul, MN include CNC milling and turning (Brookings), stamping with full tool room die design and build (Brookings) , laser cutting (St. Paul), CNC punch/laser combo (St. Paul), press brake forming (both), welding (both), and assembly (both). This is a full-time, professional position that reports to the President.
Responsibilities
Management of all departments in the Brookings operation, including manufacturing, engineering & programming, tooling, maintenance, quality, procurement, estimating, customer service and human resources / employee relations.
Accountable for all plant level key performance indicators including operational (safety, quality, delivery, productivity) and financial (profit and loss).
Recommend and implement capital equipment, technology, and facility investments to ensure our people are equipped with the best tools and environment to win in the marketplace and grow our business.
Promote continuous improvement activity at all levels in the organization, but in particular through active engagement of the production level operators. Ensure a culture of continuous improvement with the defining characteristic being empowerment of our people to improve the business.
Active participation as a member of the Executive Management Team in imagining, defining and implementing strategies that ensure we remain an employer of choice for existing and prospective team members, and a preferred supplier for existing and prospective customers.
Qualifications
A leader experienced in motivating others to perform at their best.
A hands on manager who pays attention to details in ensuring the day to day performance of a fast paced manufacturing operation meets performance expectations.
10+ years of relevant operations/manufacturing experience with progressively increasing responsibilities including directing and managing others for at least 5 years.
Understand and experienced in any/all of our core competencies of CNC machining, stamping, welding, and mechanical assembly is a significant plus.
Experienced in reading, understanding and managing to a plant level profit and loss statement against budget.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Manufacturing, Business, or related discipline is a plus.
Experienced and effective in promoting an environment of continuous improvement (CI) that delivers results through whatever tools/techniques are appropriate (the various LEAN tools, Six Sigma, etc.).
Personal experience in problem solving is required.
Effective communicator both verbally and in writing to your people, your peers on the executive management team, and to customers and other external stakeholders.
Experienced and effective in defining short and long term plans, and then executing them.
Advanced analytical skills with experience in mining and analyzing data.
Demonstrated competency with personal computer systems and software applications including ERP, as well as MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and related office applications.
