Job Description

Nalco Water Mining is a global business within the Ecolab Industrial family, a group of divisions that share Ecolab's common mission - to provide the world with safe food, clean water, abundant energy, and healthy environments. We are actively seeking a Sr. Marketing Communication Specialist to manage communications for the Global Mining division. This role is responsible for building and executing communications for both internal and external mining audiences. The audiences can include associates, customers, prospects, and industry stakeholders across six different global market segments. This individual is a key partner for division leadership and helps develop messaging strategies that support the division's key growth initiatives, such as flotation and digital solutions.

What will you do:

Digital / Online Marketing - This individual manages web content for mining pages on Ecolab.com. They are responsible for optimizing and / or developing new content for mining web pages, and they work closely with the Ecolab Interactive Marketing (IM) team to monitor SEO performance and web traffic. This individual is also responsible for building and executing a social media strategy that requires the creation of social media copy, graphics, and other content. Additionally, this individual partners with marketing colleagues and leaders to plan industry webinars and email marketing initiatives. These efforts require close collaboration with the Ecolab IM and Industrial Communications teams.

Media Placements and Trade Shows - This role is responsible for building a schedule of ads, trade publications, and trade shows that align with the business' key growth priorities and markets. This individual manages the budget related to publications and external events, and helps to fulfill any artwork, copy, or other content. The Sr. Marketing Communication Specialist helps write and review articles and other publications in conjunction with division marketers and technical experts. They collaborate with team, corporate, and legal stakeholders to ensure compliance with all relevant policies. For trade shows, this individual builds the event strategy collaboratively with the marketing team. They work closely with Ecolab Event Marketing to plan and execute the event logistics and communications.

Internal Events and Communications - The Sr. Marketing Communication Specialist works closely with division leadership to execute high-level internal events and communications, including division town halls, e-blast newsletters, and other email communications. For internal events, this individual helps structure an agenda and build a related presentation in conjunction with the event speakers. They work with the Ecolab Event Marketing team to plan the event format and execute logistics, and they help create and distribute event communications to attendees. For e-blast newsletters and other internal communications, the Sr. Marketing Communication Specialist develops a schedule of content and owns the creation and distribution of each communication.

Literature, Presentations, and Other Sales Support Tools - The Sr. Marketing Communication Specialist supports the Global Mining Value Creation team in the creation of sales support tools, including brochures, sell sheets, case studies, presentations, videos, and other tools. The individual is responsible for writing and structuring the document or presentation, as well as helping to facilitate design (either by working on the design themselves or managing a design partner). They work closely with the Ecolab Industrial Communications team to assign the appropriate literature numbers, and review and publish the sales tool in the right channels. They also work closely with the Value Creation team to help maintain an internal mining SharePoint library called The Global Mine.

Branding - The Sr. Marketing Communication Specialist acts as a brand steward and liaison for the Global Mining team. They advise on the appropriate brand guidelines for team communications and documents, and they support the development of new product / solution brands according to the guidance of the Ecolab Brand team.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing communications, corporate communications, or a related function with a bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Publications, or a related field
  • Excellent writing, editing, and content creation skills with the ability to structure and craft clear, concise messages independently for a variety of channels
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to lead team and stakeholder meetings productively
  • Strong business acumen and ability to align business objectives with communication strategies and tactics
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of branding and design with the ability to manage the production of graphics and video for literature, web, social media, and other types of publications
  • Demonstrated proficiency with creating and editing presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Basic knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) and web content
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite applications, such as InDesign, Illustrator, or other applications
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
