While reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for operating all Extrusion equipment in a safe manner. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You will have the ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects in the packing line. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organization skills, and attention to detail.

Day to day responsibilities include

  • Set up and operate and extrusion machine and ensure proper dimensions are set up
  • Adjust machine components to regulate speeds, pressures, temperatures, and amounts, dimensions and flow of materials or ingredients
  • Ensure that quality expectations are met and notify lead, or supervisor, when extruded product fails to meet standards
  • Record and Maintain production data such as meter readings ad quantities, types and dimensions of materials produced
  • Turn controls to adjust machine functions, such as regulating air pressure or die gaps
  • Reel extruded products into rolls
  • Specify lengths and weights of rolls
  • Replace worn dies
  • Set controls to regulate vacuum, air pressure, sizing rings, and temperature
  • Synchronize speed of extrusion

This position is in our Plastics facility in beautiful Wilson, NC

  • At least one year of experience as an extrusion operator in a plastic packaging environment (must have been the operator or lead operator not helper or roll hanger)
  • 2 years of machine operator experience
  • 2 years of manufacturing experience
  • Experience in thermoforming
  • Steel toe shoes
  • Ability to read, write, and perform math skills
  • Sense of urgency and responsibility
  • Understanding of manufacturing and quality control
