Job Title: Truck Driver, Tractor Trailer, Unit Movement Office

Location: Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA

Position Summary:

PD Systems is seeking an experienced Truck Driver to drive trucks with trailers. The trucks/trailers will have a set or several sets of wheels at the rear only, with the forward portion being supported by the truck tractor or towing vehicle. These trucks/trailers are used to transport vehicles, containers, and equipment between various locations. The driver may also load or unload trucks with or without helpers and must ensure the truck in safe working order prior to each trip.

Essential Functions:

• The driver will ensure that all loading and unloading of their vehicle is done in a safe manner. It is up to the driver to ensure that all loads being driven are properly always secured.
• The driver is responsible for inspecting the vehicle daily to ensure the vehicle is in good running condition.
• The driver is required to have in their possession a valid Commercial Driver's License (class A).
• The driver must have a Government Motor Vehicle Operators Identification Card.

Minimum Requirements:

• Candidate must possess knowledge of Army regulations, all applicable publications, policies, procedures, or other written or verbal instructions relating to work.
• A valid state CDL Class A with "bus endorsements" and HAZARDOUS Endorsement is required.
• 6-8 years of experience as a Tractor Trailer Driver with a High School Diploma.

General Requirements:

• Must have formal documented training and able to provide documented Truck driver, Tractor-Trailer experience.
• Must be able to lift on an occasional basis a maximum of 50 pounds with frequent or constant lifting of 40 pounds.
• Must have demonstrated understanding of Safety and OSHA Laws & Regulations.
• Must be able to climb in and out of vehicles and related equipment.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat, heavy wind, heavy rain, and snow or sleet.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain licenses on military vehicles, tactical and Non-tactical.
• Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a security clearance if required.
• Must be able to pass random drug testing (as required).
• Must have demonstrated understanding of Safety and OSHA Laws & Regulations.

Education and Citizenship Requirements:

• Required: US nationality/citizenship and residence.
• Required: High School diploma or GED certificate with verbal and written fluency in English.
