Job Summary

The Copywriter in Drexel University's LeBow College of Business will join the College's communications and marketing team and work collaboratively to advance the brand reputation, stories and strategic priorities of the College. Reporting to the Associate Director of Content Development and Strategy, the Copywriter is responsible for writing compelling, creative, brand-aligned content across the College's marketing and communications channels, including digital and print advertising, websites, recruitment materials and email newsletters.

The Copywriter ensures that all content is compelling, grammatically correct, accurate, audience appropriate and conforms to AP and University style guides, as well as the University and College brand/tone. The successful candidate will be an adept writer, experienced in concepting and creating copy for advertising campaigns and websites that results in effective and captivating communication.

Essential Functions

  • Concept, write and edit compelling, brand-aligned content for LeBow's digital and print advertising (e.g. social media, PPC, display, billboards, etc.), website and marketing landing pages, and recruitment and email communications.
  • Create other copy as needed for social, web, email or print communications with a quick turnaround time. Ensure tone and style of all College marketing and communications are consistent with University/College brand and style guidelines, as well as AP style. Identify compelling stories and contribute to brainstorming sessions.
  • Build relationships and collaborate with internal departments, students and alumni to ensure accurate, strategic, high-quality communications.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelors Degree in Communications, Marketing or related field.
  • 3-5 years of copywriting or communications experience in either an agency or higher education setting.
  • Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills, as well as a thorough knowledge of AP Style.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience writing copy for digital advertising campaigns, including social media ads and paid search ads.
  • Familiarity with content management systems and Google Analytics.
